Title: Afternoon Nap
Submitter: Tod
Description: This is probably my favorite of all these pictures. It came out just about perfect, and that's good enough for me. Somebody in the team has the real life picture of this, but i drew it anyway. After having driven all day the day before, and only sleeping a few hours, i made it until we reached registration, then passed out in the front seat of my cavalier. wasn't too uncomfortable either. it just so happens this was the exact pose i had laying across the front seats.
Title: MiniBaja
Submitter: Tod
Description: The comment there (if you can't read it) is "No Craig, I don't think the front tires are supposed to do that" Okay, for those of you who didn't know, i spent most of last week in Alabama with a bunch of guys from school competing in what i commonly call "the engineers version of football." Which is a way of saying, we can't compete physically, but we can design and build stuff. for those of you interested in more info on this, go to www.sae.org and look up motorsports, student competitions. But i digress. Of the sixty cars, we placed 24, which isn't too bad considering the car was COMPLETELY untested. we had quite a few troubles, but it was the steering that finally killed us, breaking twice in the latter half of the five hour race. kind of ended our day.
Title: I Hate Fords
Submitter: Tod
Description: Okay, so there are worse things in the world than Fords, but this particular one was a royal pain in my... butt. We made it all the way down to Alabama, then the van conked out. we lost all electrical power, not even a dome light. while all the other guys tried to get are car ready to race, I had to play diesel mechanic, or at least parkinglot electrician, and get the university van runnin, again. it wasn't fun, but i managed. strangely, MY car, which i had anticipated trouble from, went smoothely, albeit a few bumps from worn suspension.
Title: Fatal Error
Submitter: Tod
Summary: Inspired by the pic of Robin 'Hitting any Key to continue' and my recent computer problems...
Description: As a i posted on the NIMHMUCK website a while back, i had some computer problems that ended with me building a new computer because my old one was so screwed up i didn't know what to do with it. Anyway, i was sifting through the archive and found the picture of Robin 'Hitting any Key to continue' and this came into my head. It was just too funny to pass up.
Title: Alec
Submitter: Tod
Summary: A character concept I came up with for a 'mouse villain', something like a Jenner, but not as extreme. A political mouse with an agenda for power.
Description: Alec is my attempt at somewhat of a 'mouse villian.' He's a mouse, somewhat young, but ambitious and experienced in polotics as well as the guard. A Colonel, and a flamboyant one at that, Alec uses his position to gain people's trust or loyalty, although his own loyaly is only fur deep. He has no objection to killing if need be, but doesn't want people to be suspicous, so he won't take out anyone of high profile, such as a council member or superior officer. Charming and suave, the only civilian that really gives him any unrest so far as a threat to powr is a former lieoutenant, Tod.
Title: Erika
Submitter: Tod
Summary: Or 'Erik' as she's known to her co-workers, Erika is a concept of what you could call, the community 'Computer Geek'.
Description: A young and determined mouse, the younger sister of Terry Malloy (far left, Brothers in Arms) and Ron Malloy (second from right, Brothers in Arms), Erik, as she is known, is a tomboy to the last, and the senior computer technician. Playful at heart, she hates her glasses, but wears them to keep her eyes from getting bad from staring at small computer parts and screens all day. Though she won't admit it, Erika still has a schoolgirl crush on Tod Bishop, even though the older mouse is married, but she now realizes that it never woulda worked out anyway. but that doesn't keep her from dreaming...
Title: Practice Session Sketch
Submitter: Tod
Summary: A request by Greg Busby that i am currently in the long and tedious process of coloring, but thought i'd post anyway. He wanted something instrumental, and this was one of his (many) ideas. Hopefully i can get to finishing it soon.
Description: A request by Greg Busby that i am currently in the long and tedious process of coloring, but thought i'd post anyway. He wanted something instrumental, and this was one of his (many) ideas. Hopefully i can get to finishing it soon. (And please don't ask my what brand guitars those are, i am not the instrument expert. the only thing i can play is a tailpipe, and i'm not that great at that.) Anyhow, this pic has entered the inking and coloring process, as will all the others will pretty soon, hopefully. Anyone have any tips on shading and such in photoshop? i'm having a rough time with that right now.
Title: Backwoods Concept Sketch
Submitter: Tod
Summary: This is a concept i did for a friend of mine last night, a relatively new and sporadic member on MUCK.
Description: A first in many instances for me, this is the concept sketch I did for a friend of mine last night (I managed to convert him to NIMHism in the short time I've known him, hehe). He's called simply by his nickname, Backwoods, which describes his spirit and style. An outdoorsmouse, well traveled and good spirited. This is actually based on a rough sketch his player had done and showed me (apparently there's others, but he didn't have them with him at the time.) I added the compass, smaller and simpler than Tod's cumbersome lensatic, but just as effective. Light tan in color, with a dark, DARK, brown stripe running from the tip of his nose, back to his tail. This is also the FIRST pic I scanned with my new scanner, a birthday present from grandma, and my very first Character concept of someone else's character. Someday, i may color this, but, alas, that is a skill i am still struggling with as of yet, so currently it remains as it was drawn, grayscale.
Title: One More Candle...
Submitter: Tod
Summary: Hear 'em singing Happy Birthday, Better think about the wish I made. This year gone by ain't been a piece of cake.
Description: Hear 'em singing Happy Birthday Better think about the wish I made This year gone by ain't been a piece of cake Every day's a revolution Pull it together and it comes undone Just one more candle and a trip around the sun I'm just hanging on while this old world keeps spinning And it's good to know it's out of my control If there's one thing that I've learned from all this living Is that it wouldn't change a thing if I let go... "Trip Around The Sun" -Jimmy Buffet Well, I guess it'll come out sooner or later, with one week left in this, my 21st year. On the 5th of August, i complete my 22nd 'trip around the sun', and I guess it's time I look back on that trip. It's been at best a break even year, by far the most turbulent and changing in my life. Moving out, Becoming involved in Muck, nearly flunking out of college, finding redemption in the dusty back office of a soup can lid company, and, the worst day of my life, the death of my sister's baby. From the depths of dispair, to the pinnacle of happiness...and back again. More has changed in my life in the last 365 days, than in the other 21 full years before, at least, that i can remember. But like the song say: "I keep hangin' on while this old world keeps turning..."
Title: My Dirty Little Secret
Submitter: Tod
Summary: Quite Possibly The Darkest Moment Of My Life...
Description: Wounds heal, pain fades, but the scars still remain… I guess it’s been about a year now, and I’m ready to talk about it. If anyone has ever wondered why I act the way I do (irresponsible smart-aleck), particularly those that know me in real life, well, this is why. For most of my life I was a responsible, decent person who followed rules, didn’t speak up, and quietly went about my life. And when the stress built up, I kept it quietly to myself, never told anyone, because I didn’t think anyone would care. And then, one night when I was piled with a mountain of homework, drowning in the depression brought on by my own discontent I had serious thoughts about what I considered to be the unthinkable. It scared the living hell out of me. I honestly don’t know how I talked myself out of suicide, or even how well it worked, but I never told anybody about it. I just shut it all up inside and buried that dirty little secret away. I’ve never been so scared in my life, mostly because I was serious. It never made it as far as the picture shows, though that’s how I felt. It’s been about a year now, give or take, since that situation. I guess I figured it was time that someone knew what happened. My simple advice for someone who thinks they’re on the ragged edge like I was: let someone know. A teacher, friend, sibling, SOMEBODY. Not everyone has the kind of resolve that saved my life, and I’m not even sure if I really did. Good friends are nothing short of a blessing, and I’m not even really religious. So, in a strange sort of way, thank all of you. Because without this group of friends I’ve found, I might have ended up back here. You all are truly people that care, and I appreciate ALL of you for that.

Description: A rough sketch of one (of many) pics inspired by Mephit Furmeet. This is the 'immortification' so to speak, of Xavier's perpetual fear that Simon was going to thwap the living heck out of him all the time (something that, surprisingly, never actually happoened, but inspired the pic, none the less) More to come...eventually...
Title: Timmi Hendrix
Submitter: Tod
Description: And this is the sum total of 1 week worth of work. yep, it took all week for me (at work) to do...this. (actually, this took about 5 minutes, but that's prettymuch all i accomplished all week at work.) A simple tribute to a great guitarist, with a bit of a NIMH twist to it. Yep, he's playing it left handed, 'cuz that's how Jimi did it. You can't see it, but he's wearing a bandanna and i had intended a tie die t-shirt and peace sign too. EVENTUALLY, i'll finish this one, i just haven't gotten there yet.
Title: GunPlay
Submitter: Tod
Summary: I just needed to draw /something/ and this is what i came up with. An "Attempt" to add some action to my work, and draw on the /left/ side of the brain. Not sure how well it came out. Please, critique.

Description: Bandit: Step 1: Rough Sketch A pic originally entitled 'Mad Mouse' (yes, that's another bad pun by me) For anyone who ever wonders what a picture looks like before I trace and ink it. If you can /Decipher/ this, it is the rough start of a long in the works pic. I try to make a point of not erasing when i sketch, so that i can just concentrate on getting the lines where i want them, and not all the small details. most of this is construction geometry.
Title: Backwoods
Submitter: Tod
Summary: A little joke from MFM this year, when Xavier and Jacob started feeding Backwoods some pixi stix and energy drinks, and he went...well, anybody remember that part from Hoodwinked?
