The year 2000's NIMHcon was held in Atlanta, Georgia. Eight people were in attendance. Here is a small sampling of what we did:

group.jpg (42.3 KB)
Group photo of the people who went to NIMHcon. Top (left to right): J.C. Foster (Badbird), Ken A. (Max), Bob R. (Dirk), Nathaniel P. (that would be me, Seoman). Bottom (left to right): "Robin" (picture blacked out by request), Matt G. (Darian), Gregg A. (Gabriel), Matthew B.
airport.jpg (27.9 KB)
The lovely Hartsfield Intl. Airport's food court. One of the first things I saw upon arriving to Atlanta. :)
teresas-truck.jpg (25.9 KB)
Well, I thought it was funny...
church.jpg (34.7 KB)
A quaint old-style architecture church that I saw while waiting in line for the World of Coke.
underground-atlanta.jpg (42.3 KB)
Welcome to Underground Atlanta, shopping extravaganza! Since there's a much better background on how Underground Atlanta came about, it suffices me to say it's a sort of below-street-level mall/bazaar. J.C. Foster (Badbird) is the guy in the left-hand corner with the sports jersey on.
uga-amethyst.jpg (30.6 KB)
Some very beautiful amethyst crystals in the Art By God shop in the Underground.
uga-indians-baseball.jpg (36.8 KB)
A large (approx. 4' tall) baseball with the Indians' logo on it. There were a number of large baseballs like this scattered around the Underground, but since I didn't think they were all that interesting, I only took a picture of one.
uga-old-car.jpg (29.6 KB)
An old car, with a number of people from our group standing in front. Left to Right (as far as I can tell): J.C., Ken, Matt G., Bob, Matt B., and Gregg.
uga-warner-store.jpg (51.1 KB)
The front of the Warner Bros. Store on the upper level of the Underground.
NCon02.jpg (44.3 KB)
A group photo in front of the Warner Bros. Store. Left to right: J.C., Bob, "Robin" (picture blacked out by request), Matt B., Nathaniel, Matt G., Ken. Photo taken by Gregg Anderson.
whale-mural.jpg (35.2 KB)
A part of the Atlanta skyline, including a very nice mural with whales in it.
world-of-coke.jpg (29.9 KB)
Entrance to the World of Coke.
woc-coke-logo.jpg (36.9 KB)
Close up of the 'Coke' logo that hangs outside the World of Coke building.
NCon01.jpg (38.6 KB)
A group photo taken in front of a dormant fountain in front of the World of Coke building. Left to right: Ken, Nathaniel, J.C., Bob, "Robin" (picture blacked out by request), Matt G., Matt B. Photo taken by Gregg Anderson.
woc-group.jpg (42.4 KB)
Another group photo, taken while waiting in line for the World of Coke. Left to right: Ken, "Robin" (picture blacked out by request), Bob, Matt G., J.C., Gregg, Matt B.
woc-carved-bottle.jpg (22.7 KB)
A wood and stone carving of a Coca-Cola bottle.
woc-cokeserved.jpg (18.3 KB)
A number larger than the national debt!
woc-flags.jpg (46.8 KB)
The flags of the nations that carry Coke, I'd assume.
woc-machine.jpg (31 KB)
A weird faux Coke bottling machine. The easily amused can watch this thing for hours while it does... absolutely nothing. Oh, it looks like it's filling bottles, but, at least as far as I can tell anyway, it isn't. I think that's Matt B. in the foreground...
woc-maxhedroom.jpg (37.8 KB)
...and so I was thinking, 'Cool, Max Headroom! I remember him! Let's take a picture of it!'
woc-polar-bear.jpg (26.6 KB)
The Coca-Cola polar bear. I couldn't get anyone to sit still long enough to do a group photo in front of it, so there's no one in this picture from our group.
woc-tasting-room.jpg (40.6 KB)
The Coca-Cola tasting room. You can try all of the products Coca-Cola makes, both domestically and internationally, in this room and the one adjacent to it. That room was boring though, so I didn't take a picture of it. By the way, if you ever go to the World of Coke, you should try 'Beverly'. No, really, you should... especially if you're a masochist. >P
NCon03.jpg (27.6 KB)
J.C., Ken and "Robin" (photo blacked out by request) try on their NIMHcon Shirts before we go to Stone Mountain. Photo taken by Gregg Anderson.
stone-mountain.jpg (58.4 KB)
Stone Mountain, "the worlds' largest exposed granite monolith, with relief carving of Confederate notables." I'm just waiting for the laser show. :)
NCon06.jpg (58.4 KB)
Hey! Look at those bunch 'a weirdos! They've got cartoon mice on their shirts! :) Our group, showing off their NIMHish pride at Stone Mountain. Left to right: Left to right: Bob, Matt B., "Robin" (photo blacked out by request), J.C., Matt G., Nathaniel, Ken. Photo taken by Gregg Anderson.
sm-confederates.jpg (46.1 KB)
Close up of the carving. From left to right, the figures are representations of Robert E. Lee, "Stonewall" Jackson, and Jefferson Davis.
sm-mansion.jpg (39.2 KB)
This mansion-like building, I believe, is the visitors' center for Stone Mountain Park.
sm-fireworks.jpg (24.5 KB)
One of only two of the many (around fifteen) shots I took of the fireworks and laser show that actually turned out.
sm-iwojima-flag.jpg (40.1 KB)
The second shot that turned out. The laser image is of the soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima. ~/o I'm Proud to Be an American...~/o (You can see a movie file of this part of the show on the official site.)
nimhcon-logo.jpg (24.6 KB)
This was the logo I made up for NIMHcon; it was printed on the front of the t-shirts we (meaning Gregg) had made.
