Hi,

I have visited both sites (Robins and Thornvalley) and have enjoyed both of them!

I also want to write a story on The Secret of NIMH (It'll be AU since I personally think that the second movie is just pathetic-I've watched it only once and now I barely remember it).

The only thing that I know for sure is that I want it to be a Justin/Mrs. Brisby relationship. I know that she and Johanthen were married, but he's dead and she is slowly getting over his death. I also don't want this fic to be a 'Jonathen comes back from the grave' while those stories are okay, it seems that the idea is being used a lot (but this is just my opinion). I'm not sure on how old the children will be (this will not just be a romance fic).

I have no idea on how long of a plot line I want or what so ever. I am not even sure if I want Jenner to miracously survive or what (though that is very tempting)

Also has anyone have a problem when someone thinks up a great story in their heads and when you go and sit down near your computer and you can't really write it? Or is it just me?

I hope this is the right place to put this, I wasn't sure were else it could go.

Thanks.

P.S.

I have written a couple of one-shot stories before and they're Harry Potter based.

"We--were just talking about you."-Jenner

"We that's refreshing Jenner, usually you're screaming about us."-Justin

Yo!

I am also wriiting a fan fic (has been in developement for 3 years now I think) and I would be delighted to help you out. Who knows, maybe by helping you I will be helping mysefl also.

It took me a little while to know where my plot was going. At first I just thought - "Right this is quick and easy!" How wrong I was. Now apon reflextion I can give you this advice:

1. First, decide on the "feel" of your story. Is it generaly romantic, joyful, comedic, Dark, forboding? - Doing this will help to structure your plotline.

2. Plan out your chapters giving the setting, happenings, time and purpose of each one. - Trust me this does help though don't try to fit too much into one chapter or you WILL lose your train of creative thought.

3. Write about each individual character and how you want them to be.

4. Lastly, it helps to keep the notes you make in your planning stages so that you'l be able to relect on them.

Ok, that should help you out I think, if you have any questions just let me know!

I honestly think a story that doesn't involve Jonathan coming back to life might be intreguing. Personall, I like the stories where he's alive, but that's just me. (Paul Gibbs did the best with that in my mind.)

As an idea, it might be interesting to see what happened, say, the Day After the rats left the farm. How the Brisby family got along, what Mr. Ages did, how Jeremy copes with his new love life, etc. Maybe even an encounter where one of the Brisby children ends up back at NIMH and Mrs. Brisby has to seek the rats' help to find rescue them. Just a though.

As for writers block, happens to me all the time. I've got a hundred stories floating around in my head, and I can't, for the life of me, get them out of there. I also have at least a dozen stories I've started and never finished. I really need to get off my butt and write them.

Anyway, that's my advice. The best thing I can tell you is do what you feel you like, not what you think others will like. The more YOU like the story, the better it will turn out since you will want to spend more time writing it. And, for those times when you come up with stories, always keep something to write ideas down in. They don't have to be elaborate, I usually just do rough outlines with a few words per line so I remember the idea.
