Nightweaver20xx

It's so good to find a place like this, and that it still has active members.

I'm Nightweaver (or Nightweaver20xx, the nick I chose once I joined FurAffinity back in 2007). I was known since about 2002 for my Sonic fanart, and some of my stuff can still be found floating around various groups and galleries. I recently got into some bad blood on FA, and intentionally deleted my entire gallery there and on DeviantArt in order to serve a sort of penance for what I did to people there. What I did is not really important, point is I had to reach way way down into myself to try to find out what I really valued in my life. One of those things that truly made me into the person I am is The Secret of NIMH. Even more than the Saturday morning Sonic cartoon (of which I'm an obsessive fan also), NIMH molded me into a human being. It's hard to explain how. I first saw the movie when I was 3 years old in 1983.

No matter what happens in my life, I keep coming back to NIMH's wondrous world, and especially to Mrs. Brisby. She's my muse. I count Princess Sally as a secondary muse, but Mrs. B beat her by more than a decade, and formed my most basic emotions and values. So I'm here now, at 30 years old, feeling sometimes old, sometimes young, but especially young and full of wonder when I watch, talk about, even think about my sweet little mouse. I want to be a small part in spreading the word about this wonderful classic movie, about its universe, and about Mrs. Briz. It's the closest thing I have to a religion, having disregarded organized religion early on in life.

Cartoon characters as gods and goddesses? I believe it could be possible. What else is religious belief but a belief in the divinity of an idea, of a force of nature that influences our lives. So it is my hope I can spread this concept, not by force, but by producing art. It's the way I can most closely connect with that which I love, and I hope to share some of it with all of you.

Sorry if this was longer than the average intro. I hope I didn't sound too full of myself. I'm not anything special, just a simple man with simple loves.

BTW, if you're into RPGs (like your profile says), you might want to check out NIMHmuck, if you haven't already: http://www.nimhmuck.org
