POC

New here.
Just watched a movie, "Charly". About a guy who has an operation to make him smarter. It was first performed on a mouse, Algernon. I'm 30 years old, but something from my memory made me think that perhaps Algernon was somehow connected to "Mrs. Frisby". Am I anywhere near right, or just smart mice and rats in both??

So anyway, here I am!
Don't know how much I'll be around.

Ah, the movie version of Flowers for Algernon, right? Hmm... Well, I don't recall Robert C. O'Brien ever mentioning that as an inspiration, though it's possible that it could've been, since it was written a few years before Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.

I always thought that was a good movie, and I just saw it again a few weeks ago, I must have enjoyed it around the same time as you saw it also, but this time my roommate saw it for the the first time and loved the part where Charly held the poor mouse in his hand, and before all the great minds of the world said "Charly is a man who will soon become what he once was" and turns to the docs and adds " why did`nt you tell me it was only for a short time" (not word for word) A plot twist, roomy was caught by surprise and had to fork up that there was a NIMH feel to it, but the movie was done in 1968 and book 1971 we do not know how much was used off of that if any.

Oh, forgive me, where are my manors, Welcome :D
