After some careful thought and discussion, I have decided to take on a new moderator for the forum. As of now, Xavier will be able to assist me in managing the forum and discussion that occurs on it. Congratulations and welcome aboard, Xavier!

liBlushes and bows his head sagelyli Thank you Simon for the welcome. I'll try my best to help take some of the burden off of you. Especially due to your recent post in the general discussion forum. I'm flattered you put such responsibility, and greatly honored.

Does this mean I get to harass you, like I harass Jeff on NIMH Muck? What about abuse of power? huh? well? wink-wink, nudge-nudge? ;)

How about to commemorate, we ban the first person who posts in this thread? whatcha' say?

Kidding, of course.

Lucky you Xavier! :P :P :P
I'm happy that you are chosen for the new Moderator to replace Gabriel for your hard work.
Congratulations Xavier and welcome as the new Usergroup Moderator! :P
I wish I could be one. :(

P.S. Why are all the other Announcement threads locked up? :?

Thanks! I almost find it disturbing that Simon trusts me enough to let me access some of the controls.

liblinks and peers at the big brightly lit red button that says 'DO NOT PRESS' - "Ohhhhh what does -this- one do!?!" liGRINSli

Though, I think you mean Gabriel, not Daniel? Not sure I know any Daniels here ;). Also, way to be subtle on the 'hint' dropping Nimhster

As for why all the other announcements were locked, most of them were rather old, and more for reference, rather than discussion Plus, keeping them locked keeps them more in chronological order. Whether any of the more recent ones are again unlocked, that's up to Simon. ;)

Who's Daniel?
Congratulations Xavier and welcome as the new Usergroup Moderator!

He's a Forum Moderator. We don't have usergroups here.

P.S. Why are all the other Announcement threads locked up? :?

To prevent people from bumping up older topics and messing up the chronological order of the announcements. Really, there's no good reason to comment on older news anyway, usually.

Are you going to delete all of them?

Are you going to delete all of them?

No. I'm keeping them around as a log of changes and updates. They are only being locked against future posts.

Congratulations, Xavier :) ,

Checking the cages and seeing what the mice and rats are up to is hard work., and I think you will do a grand job :D

I hope I do not get on the boo boo list, sometimes I tend to babble (all for the love of NIMH), that I feel like that old mouse character from the 1940`s cartoon shorts, "Blabber mouse".
A clean and friendly forum as with here is so nice to come to after a hard days work.
Oh no, my cage needs cleaning again

Thank you, Asyra and Whiskers. I appreciate the congratulations lihugs everyoneli

Asyra, yes, you should visit more often. Both the forum, and the Muck... Not that I have -any- bias about either, or anything. liInnocent grinli

Not sure how much I 'deserve' it, I just hope to help Simon out with the load. If I can do that, I'll be happy.

Whiskers. I think Simon will probably have the final say when it comes to dishing out discipline to the active members. Fortunately it seems everyone here is pretty well behaved to begin with.

Just so you know, I only do tidying, and I don't do windows or floors ;).

So Xavier, how's being the Moderator for the Forums? Is it fun? Boring? Dull? Exciting?

Goes alright I guess. Not much different than being a regular visitor really. Only real difference is you tend to need to read more of -all- of the posts, or at least try to and keep an eye out for problems that might need fixing. Fortunately you guys are all so well behaved. ;)
