It's been 10 years since I got into NIMH

The other day I just realized it's been 10 years since I first discovered and fell in love with the NIMH fandom. I was actually reminded by the Nostalgia Critic review of NIMH 2, oddly enough. I never imagined hearing someone slam a movie a had once blindly adored (don't even ask I can't tell ya) would bring back such fond memories.

I don't know if anyone on Badbird's old message board remembers me but to those who do I just want to say "Hi" again as well as apologize and thank you for putting up with me. :D . I adore the Rats of NIMH books and Secret of NIMH for being made of awesome and the NIMH fandom for getting me interested in fan-fiction and eventually writing. Sadly most of what I produced back in the day was cruddy but it was something.

I have recently revisited the book and movie and part of me suddenly wants to write a sequel story thing but heaven knows if I commit to it out loud I might jinx myself. I've gone through a ton of fandoms since then and I'm now working on some original stuff as well.

Sorry for my rambling, If you don't mind me asking can anyone else remember when and how they first got into NIMH and how long it's been since? Just curious.

If this kind of post isn't allowed, I apologize.

Well, I don't remember you, but I'm new here so I have no reason to remember you, but maybe one to get to know you. I think you should write a NIMH sequal, those are always fun to do. As for how long it's been and what got me into NIMH, that's a tough one.

My mom was always fond of it, and I think I saw it when I was maybe... 4? For the first time. So that was about 12 years ago. I recently got back into it when she ordered the DVD on Netfliix. I watched 6 times before sending it back, and then borrowed the book from a friend. I finished the book in 4.5 hours then went on the web and found this place.

I think I went a little too far there, but that's okay I guess.

Time sure does fly

I remember getting off work on a Friday in 1984 and stopping by the old video rental store, I saw the movie there, I had seen the previews a few years before, anywho rented the movie and was just floored with the animation and story, later I read the book and that was a treat :)

The only one I know of who has seen this movie at the theater at I`ts release 1982 is NIMHmaniac.

I saw it on its theatrical release too. No need to repeat details here, they can be found elsewhere, if anyone’s curious
