I completely overlooked this and didn't remember it that well until recently, but I happened to let a SON clip end up in a video I made a while ago. Way back when I was in 8th grade, we had a fantastic english teacher, who at the end of the year, let us put together an optional video with partners that needed to define and explain vocabulary words we needed to use to get ready for standardized tests in the following years. While most kids got a camera and recorded themselves explaining the words and using little quirks. I got a VHS tape, and recorded clips from other popular movies on tape and mashed them together to demonstrate the words, my partner was a video editing freak and he knew all about this stuff. We also added a tiny bit of our own footage, including one scene with our own homemade sock puppets (to demonstrate "squander"), and a voiced over scene where video game consoles diss each other and brag according to their power (The word "tout" was used). but in the middle of all that, and without me really finding out until now, it contained the injections sequence from SON! It demonstrated the word "twinge". Some of the other movies I used were Ferris Bueller's day off, Alien, A nightmare on elm street, Wayne's world, and other movies I liked and still ike now.
At the time I sorta was sorta misguided and thought NIMH was a little-kid film, and let it slip by. But I just found the tape in a drawer I never open, and I played it. Unfortunately, it was deteriorated heavily. The screen jumped up and down and lots of "lines" showed up, and there was some static. But the worst part came after the video. I ejected it, and the VCR tore off the tape. :( I put scotch tape on it , but apparently the VCR didn't react well and it got stuck.... Well, at least I'll remember it....
