For those of you who were not aware of this, I'm here to tell you that the SON soundtrack is availiable for download from itunes. I downloaded the full soundtrack album myself the day before yesterday and I've been enjoying it ever since. Yesiree, I'd say that there's nothing like being able to hit a switch and be taken from stress to bliss via the beautiful score as provided by the late Jerry Goldsmith. Aaaahhhh Heaven.

Peace :)

That was one of the first things I bought off iTunes. That was about 9 months ago. How time does fly.

I had no trouble finding the CD on Ebay, from which I have encoded it to FLAC. Between the nasty DRM and lower quality of iTunes tracks, I stopped using iTMS a long time ago. Plus you have to use iTunes (the program), which I can't stand.

It's unfortunate that Amazon's MP3 store doesn't have it. Also, the going price for the CD on there is like $36! (No, I didn't pay anywhere near that much)

Given how old the movie is, you'd think they'd just toss MP3s of the soundtrack on the mostly wasted 'extras' disc. I guess that makes too much sense.

I'll agree with that. Still, there are ways to get the DRM off of tracks from iTunes, so it's an option at least. Hopefully Amazon'll pick them up soon. I'm definitely a fan of their service, especially since I don't use an iPod.

I don't have an iPod, either. Or any kind of MP3 player, for that matter.

Back when SharpMusique still worked, I used that. Best way to avoid the DRM: Never let it be applied in the first place. It's actually done by iTunes, not the server you download the song from, so bypassing iTunes bypassed the DRM entirely.

And I hate the iPod. Sorry, but when they lost the nicely tactile mechanical wheel, it made using the thing a real pain. Tried the iPhone/iPod Touch, same problem of bad tactile feedback. Touch screens have been around for decades, the reason they haven't taken over the world is because they're annoying to use in most situations.

Somewhat more on-topic, the SoN soundtrack is probably the best out of any American animated film ever made. It sounds like real cinematic music, and it is. It's not the sort of shallow cut-rate stuff that is typical. It adds a lot of depth and atmosphere to the film.

This of course, helps justify why I must have perfect quality lossless rips of it handy, heh.

I got the CD on Easter 2007, so no need to buy them from iTunes. Cool to hear that though. :)
