Ummm,...I'm not so sure if Simon is really comfortable with this stuff floating around his forum, but about your question: Are you reffering to Torrent websites? If so, the best place to turn to is Torrent Reactor which requires no membership and no fee. Just browse around and find what you need.

I'd say this probably isn't the best place for such discussions, yes. That said, my main concern is direct links to copyrighted content and such, so I'll leave this one up.

The only place I know to download movies from is iTunes. There are no membership fees, but it does cost money for everything you download.
Plus, any place that is really free is also probably illegal. So why would anyone want to risk that?

I've never thought to look for sites with free movies. I'd imagine any legal place might have free promotion period, but eventually would ask for a fee for more movies.

You got Netflix, which has a certain amount of online movies as a subscriber.

The Xbox 360 has a download movie rental service. iTunes is now doing the same. I think both do HD.

I think some co-workers told me about Hulu once, check this out, plenty of tv shows, but they have movies too:

Surprising they have things like the latest Battlestar Galactica, or the entire Ice Age movie, for free, and decent quality and controls, no signing up, atleast from what it appears so far. Titan A.E. is there too.

If I may... I've got my copies of NIMH and other nice movies through torrents... It's easy and rather fast - I mean it! Just print in the search list of Google or Rambler the name of a desired movie adding a word "torrent" search the nost suitable item and download it! Still it will require special software named torrent download... I use BitComet - it's free for distribytion and easy to work with! Hope my post can help... Sorry if this is off-top or ads - I'm really NEW to forums!!!

There is "Free Movies/TV" services, however, none of them are legal. The chances of being caught can be from none to very high. If you want free movies, don't want to be caught, but put your Windows computer at risk, try Limewire. The chances of being caught are very slim, however, I recommend this more for Mac users, because they are not as vulnerable to viruses. Anyway, watching free movies online is risky, yet if you are desperate, go ahead. Many people do it.

Actually, I heard recently that Hulu was legal, if you can find what you want on it. The bad news is the company that owns it was recently bough out by another entertainment company that does not like the idea of people viewing shows/movies for free. So Hulu's future is uncertain at this stage.
