I would say that Brutus is a protective rat indeed. He doesn't talk at all in the first film.

I would say that Brutus is indeed a guardful rat indeed. He doesn't Talk at all in the first and I saw the NIMH 2 trailer at www.mgm.com . So yes, Brutus does talk. ( In the second one.:roll: ).
Yeh, in the movie "Secret of MINH" he says nothing, but in the book when Mrs Frisby first enters the rose bush and runs into Brutus, he holds quite a chat with Mrs Frisby, and ends at some thing like this, Brutus:"You must go now, I do not wish to hurt someone as small as you" not word for word, but it seems in the book Brutus liked and respected her .
