Have you guys ever checked this out? I think it's kinda cool, first result that comes up when you google NIMH. I wonder how they feel about the whole book and movie and everything named for them and the way they're portrayed in it? Could they sue?

Well, maybe tha's where Don Bluth got the whole idea on this NIMH thingy. Altough the site didn't have anything about rats or mice getting injections. ( rotfl  ).

While I don't think the book was intended to be slanderous, I recall Robert C. O'Brien being some kind of animal rights and clean-industry activist, which might have led him to choose NIMH as a scapegoat for his story. Plus it's a government site; I'm pretty sure they're used to slander by now, if it is that. Suit? Not likely.

Yeh, it`s kinda spooky knowing this is not a story of what could be, but they are for real and and their most inner workings are still unknown to us.

lisighli, well it is a NIMH site in the most real manner, so I guess i`ll have make a link from my site to theirs :?

Yea know, I did mailed NIMH once asking them about the rats and the book and I did got a response. The scientist who mailed me said it could have a loose connection between the two. He said there was a sientist at NIMH who did some experiments with rats back in the 30s.. I wouldn't be serprised that Robert heard of that and played that in his book..
