Hey folks, just wanted to post a note here about the NIMH Meet at Mephit Fur Meet, in Memphis TN. It's held on September 1st to 3rd 2006. Last couple years it's been primarily a "NIMH Muck" meet up, but I doubt that would mean any TV forum patrons couldn't attend as well. You can find more info about the con itself, at www.mephitfurmeet.com.
The rooms are $89 a night and that's the con rate. You can 'officially' put up to four people in a room. I find the rooms big enough to fit four folks in. Then again, you don't really much time in the rooms, save for sleeping, usually. At least I don't anyway!
The MFM website has everything from registration rates, online registration, and at the door reg rates, plus a forum for ride splitting, including links to the hotel, which is in itself rather nice.
I've also created a google group for discussion about plans among NIMH folks interested in attending, and a google calendar group for NIMH MFM attendees, that can be edited and contributed by all, to further help coordinate plans, and whatnot.
If anyone would like to be added to either the group, or calendar, send me an email, and I'll add you. It's best to address that's been used to sign up for a 'google' account., which can be an address associated with any google service. You even use the same user name and password, so there's no login required if you have a google account. If not, its free, and easy to create one. Use the email, or IM links blow to get in touch with me. Whichever you prefer.
Anyway, hope to see more folks there this year! gotta beat the record of four! Also, Feel free to post any questions here as well, and I'll try to answer.
EDIT: I've now included below, a newsletter from the director of MFM. This things like rooming, and what activities there are going to be, etc. For your information. Don't forget, its possible to split rooms up to four ways, with other NIMH folks, if you're so comfortable with doing so. It can save a bit of cash. You could probably sneak more than four folks into a room, if you wanted, but that's up to you and the party you're with. Although more than four might make things a bit tight in the regular rooms.
EDIT 2: Also, for MFM attendees, there is a discount on two airlines, one of which is Northwest Airlines, I don't remember what the other is, I'll have to try and find out again. For more information, contact furtravel(AT)gmail(DOT)com. Replace the (AT) and (DOT) as indicated.
