For those who haven't heard the news yet, here's another 2-D animation on it's way, but guess what,...it's not by Disney for once, hoorah! Of course this doesn't mean it will be the next Hollywood flop, I think it's great that a studio such as Universal has come out of the shadows to produce a 2-D feature of a classic book(another I missed out on as a kid).

Ok, granted, it is for small children, but I'm really interested in it one way or the other. Some jokes don't look too "dumbed down" for audiences, not the Winnie the Pooh kind anyway. So I say here's to Universal and the movie itself a 'good-luck' on their opening day. What do you say?

I saw this movie yesterday eveing and I'll have to admit that I was not expecting much. However lo and behold I was pleasantly surprised by the apparant quality of the work and the plotline itself. Mind you, this is no SON or Walt Disney flick for that matter but it does show some promise just the same. For kids up to around 7 years old, it's not bad. BTW; something that I thought would be of interest to fellow NIMHfans out there is the fact that while the end credits were scrolling across the screen, I happened to observe non other than John Pomeroy's name appear at least three times. Apparantly he did some character design work on this film because that's where I saw his name appear next to the character that he worked on.
Peace :D
