Dear friends,

This is a call to the membership, expecially Simon, who may know who I'm looking for, and Robin, if she's still glancing at posts now and then.

I'm looking for a person who used to grace the internet under the alias "Squee Rat." If you know of this person, or were once a user of that name, I would very much like to talk to them/you.

This possible conversation is not to flame at all. I'm very interested in knowing more of a certain movement, and a few words in the Manifesto led me to believe this could be a potential place to find Squee.

Looking,
Tortillian

Also, I believe I saw their badge on the awards page of Robin's old website.

Which remind me: Er, Simon, is Robin's old website available in an archive somewhere? Really, I just need to see the awards page to be sure, but...

Aw, smell, enough with the subterfuge. I'm looking for the former leader of the Burned Furs, and I think I remember the flaming paw on Robin's awards section of her website. So there it is. Questions? Comments? Torches? Stakes and hexes?

I looked through the archive I used to rebuild Robin's Archive using drupal, and I found nothing that matches your description. In fact, I'm almost positive that there wasn't a 'burned furs' badge or anything related to Squee on the site. Ever. Feel free to use the Internet Archive Wayback Machine[=http://archive.org]use the Internet Archive Wayback Machine if you'd like to see for yourself.

Aside from what you might find on the Internet Archive, there is no archive of the old site.

As far as I can tell, this website[=http://burnedfur.mv.com/]website is probably all that's left of the group. If you can find any contact info from there, more power to you, but since the group has appeared to be defunct for a good long while (I mean, I knew about the burned fur manifesto almost as soon as I started participating in the NIMH fandom, and that was back in '98 ) I've got my doubts that you'll find who you're looking for.

Tellingly, the names and emails of the members of this group are no longer available on the site. So it's possible that they'd prefer to no longer proclaim themselves as connected to the group.

In any case, as the whole movement seemed to attract flamers and trolls of the worst sort, I'd prefer that discussion regarding them happen elsewhere. I've done a couple of searches on Google about them and there are plenty of documents to wade through; perhaps you'll be able to find something there. There's even a page about it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burned_Fur
And on a site the wikipedia article links to: http://furry.wikicities.com/wiki/Burned_Furs

You're right. Not there. And I'll close discussion now. I was able to get ahold of a few people. We'll just say I found out what I needed to know.
