This is a non-NIMH thingy here, but I was so blessed by this,

A friend E-mailed me a poem and some pics at work.
I liked it so much that I thought it would make a nice page on my site, and I framed the pics (no color) and laided out the poem.
Well, see how you like it (It`s in the non-anmation part of my site).

It`s the good old days again, :D

It`s just called "Black and White"

And yes, Annette was cute (The Micky Mouse Club) 8) .

Great poem :D and so true... I remember, when I was a tike, I was watching "The Twighlight Zone" with my family, and after the show, my sister asked my dad why some shows are black and white, and some shows were in color. He has a reputation for bending the truth from time to time when answering our questions... "Oh, well, didnt you know? You didnt? Ah, I thought everyone did... The whole world was in black and white when these were made! It was in the late fifties when they invented color." We were astounded. You know, its interesting how "Black and White" shows and movies are not only black and white in description of appearence, but of the people as well. The good guys vs the bad guys-- the good guys being good, and the bad guys being bad. Lately, Ive seen too many cases where the good guys, really arent so great after all. Oh, and yes, :) it was much more wholesome and refreshing as well. We haves still have some good stuff today, but not much of it (if any) can give you that feeling that the classics were capable of.

Hehe, your dad reminds me of Calvin's dad, from the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes," by Bill Watterson. He told Calvin stuff like that all the time. :)

Ooh, "Dr. Zhivago." That's a classic in color that I absolutely love. It's just amazing, I think. Have you seen it? The story takes place during the Bolshevik revolution in Russia.

Hee hee, yah, I see you are not the only one to get the "razz" on that from our folks, I seem to remember the same thing said to me, but mom`s can play with a childs mind also. When watching a "Western like "bonanza" or" Gunsmoke", some times at the start of the show they would show the date of the story, like "1877" for that episode. I asked my mom about the date and she said "That`s when the show was made",... MOM!

The most scary to me as a kid was "The Outer Limits", by todays standards 'cheezy looking monsters', but in the 60`s it scared this little kid :(

I`m sorry, this was not ment to be a put down on the color classics like DR. Zhivago (and that was good ) , my favorites was DR. "Strange Love" B&W and "Ice Station Zebra" color. all from times past.
Cold war stories... :?

Eh? Erm, I wasn't perceiving it to be a put down, if that's what you were thinking...? :?: I was just saying I like it.
