Earlier there was some discussion that a NIMH fans' gathering might take place at MFM. I'm wondering, if a NIMH party were held at Morphicon (Columbus, OH, first weekend in May) is there anyone from here who'd attend?

Ohio is a bit of a distance for me, too. =/ When that time rolls closer around I'll let you know, as I'd like to attend, but I couldn't in good faith make any committments as of yet.

Thanks for the extension of you offer though. Does anyone live close enough to Texas that they join in on "A-kon" at Adam's Mark hotel in Dallas?

What I want to know is why these things always happen in a completely different country from me!? All right, maybe because there's not enough interest in the UK to warrant a convention, but still… Anyway, good luck organising something.

One day I shall journey to the Land of Conventions… but not now.

This coming weekend was supposed to have been BritFur, wasn't it? Having sat in on the early discussions for that, and having helped start two cons and been involved in various capacities with several more, my feeling is that there's more than enough interest for a UK con. What killed BritFur was that it got talked to death. The people involved in that decided that they had to have a concensus from all interested parties on every decision, and that just doesn't work.

Try starting one up if you want one. It's basically a lot like planning a very large party, and there are a lot of experienced people who'd be glad to advise you.

I must give that thought , I have tons of family in indiana and a older sis in Ohio, next door, May is a bit away so remind me .

Wow, I kinda wish it was like a Muppet Movie , where I get a old bus running here in So Cal, then the bus rides across the states and picks up NIMH fans along the way, we go north pick up Ravenblackdeath, and move on thru the US and pick-up Simon, Tort, Lee , Torrie, and all others fans, plus (since it`s a magical bus) a stort stop, to other places to pick up Procyon, Jam and all the bunch, and we all go together to a NIMH festible of sorts , holy smokes , what a pipe dream :D got to wash the dishes it`s my turn , hey guys one day we may find this to be true, in the present time keep hoping. 8)

There are people who still get vanload trips together for the West Coast furry cons. The practice isn't as widespread as it once was, but it still happens. There's no reason a group couldn't rent a large van together, then all ride cross-country, with some pickups on the way.

That would be coolcoolcool! I've been to ONE furry convention, and I can't remember which one, but it was with a few friends from Austin and San Antonio, in which we drove to Oklahoma. It really wasn't what I expected either, but that's okay. :? Which one is it that is held in Okalhoma? Do you know?

I'd imagine OklaCon. Kind of a small, semi-campouty sort of thing with cabins.
