Hola a todos!
To me, finding this place was an entire new world opened up.
Here, I found great guys that share with me this great passion that is "The secret of NIMH" and Thorn Valley even impulse me to take a pencil and make strange scrabbles that I usually call "drawings" and believe me, I had never drawn anything in my life that were not Sticks-Man. Even I began to writing a Fan-Fic!
And while wandering around by the Forum I came to know about NIMHmuck.
OOC> You exclaim, "Hi"
OOC> You say, "say hello :looking expectant"
Darla hugs you from afar!
OOC> g.Rat looking expectant
OOC> You ask, "Huh?"
Cluny has arrived.
Tzolkin has arrived.
OOC> Tzolkin waves.
Cluny hugs Tzolkin!
Tzolkin snugs Cluny!
Cluny hugs you!
Tzolkin fluffs you!
OOC> You exclaim, "Hey!"
OOC> Tzolkin chirps, "Hi guestie. Welcome to NIMhmuck."
Yep, that was my first experience in NIMHmuck two days ago. I have to thanks Tzolkin and Cluny for the warm welcome, guys you really made me feel like home. Thank you! :D Although I was mucking few minutes (had to leave) I really enjoy it.
Regrettably my English is not good and although I don't have problems in understanding what is said I found difficult to maintain a coherent conversation. :(
Anyway if you see an annoying g.Rat wandering around, talking like a caveman, probably it's me. Say "Hi Ten!".

What about yours?. How was your first experience in NIMHmuck?

I got a character there, but my login didn't work, then I hit a really busy period and didn't have time to do anything about it. I probably should go back and try again - it looked entertaining.

It's lots of fun.

I'm limited by time-restraints, too. :?

I haven't gotten a chance to get my character back up yet.

Well I really has so many problems in the beginning. I really need to thank Timothy (Simon) that helped me get things on NIMHmuck. When I first heard about NIMHmuck I has no idea what it was or actually what it looked like. I'm in the procedure of getting used to RP at the moment. But It's gonna be great to actually get a character. I did know there was a guest today. I never got to say hi to you (sorry). Anyway, I play the following character...

Hiro: A male NIMH rat that has a great interest in places outside the colony and he calls himself an explorer because of that. Even though not many people probably know, he's actually Simon's cousin.
(You might have seen images of him in the fanart section)

Ben: A male feral mouse that's too nervous to communicate with others. He's actually pretty afraid of the NIMHrats and so far he hasn't talked to any of them. He has a secret that makes his nervousness extreme.

Sasha: A male NIMH rat with a dangerous hobby (archery) but he never uses his bow and arrow as a weapon. He doesn't talk much but when he does, he speaks in a Russian Accent (trivial fact :? )

So when you see them, say hi to them. They're all nice :D

Wait... Timothy is a character operated by Simon? Is that true?

Heck, if it is: Simon, did you get the crit I sent for your prologue and story notes?

If you're not Timothy any more, just diregard that comment.

Sorry about that Tortillian. Yes, I did get them; just been so busy that I haven't really had time to write up a proper response. Your comments were very helpful though. Thanks. :)

My first experience on the MUCK was one of the most interesting experiences I think I've ever had. It was late, and as usual I was up late studying, and after finding out about the MUCK via this website, which I found only by chance, and researching as much as I could about MUCKs, I decided to give it a try. The rest is history. I have, or had a log of that first encounter, though I don't know what became of it. The first thing I really remember was Xavier tapping me on the shoulder...

It's good to know that you're enjoying your first experiences with NIMHMuck; we need eager, imaginative players to fill the MUCK and the fandom in general. Therefore, the arrival of newcomers such as yourself is a very welcome thing :)

I remember my first experience with the MUCK. I didn't really know how the system worked; I had assumed that one just goes IC and walks into an ongoing RP. I went to this RP in the infirmary, and, after posing in, was promptly told that I ought to pose an entrance, too :D

I don't think you're English is bad at all. You seem to have a reasonable grasp of the grammar and spelling, which is more than I can say for some native speakers I've met ;) Still, I understand that you may need extra time to parse (i.e. translate in your head) the words, but we're willing to help you out on that. Just talking to us online will be a great help to your language skills.

Anyway, I hope you have a good time on NIMHMUCK and on the forum. Have a good day ^_^

Thanks for the cheers Mathias! And thanks to all for the patience. Geez, I was caught in the middle of a meele yesterday and have to RUN OUTTA THAT CRAZY PLAAAACE!!! Just kidding! I don't want to scare any new player. Was crazy fun, and all of you help me a lot, a tight hug to all. :) Now I'm in the process of getting a character, I was thinking on use one of my Fic but I don't know if he will fit well in the muck history line :? . I'm gonna throw a line to one of the wizards to see what to do.
Anyway thank you Matthias and see you at the muck!

Heehee... I was talking to a celeb and I didn't even know it. :D

Lanywhoodle, you're quite welcome. I got your e-mail today and just finished browsing your responses (and chekcing my old crits to make sure I still thought the same). You have a great story-in-the-making. I can't wait to one day read it.

Good luck, God bless, and my your inkwell never run dry and your pen never lack luster.

P.S. I'm excited. I have almost ten completed chapters of my fan-fic finished. I'm working on the first five right now so I can submit them to you in the near future. :)

Well, you said something like that once on the muck, and I wasn't sure what do you meant. Since I'm a relative new player, I don't know how the muck was few years ago. Wouldn't mind you to explain me what were those changes you're talking about? From your point of view of course.

Well, there've been lots of things that have changed. It is just that I feel that two things have happened that need to be addressed.

1) The muck doesn't seem as realistic as it was before.

2) The community itself doesn't feel as closely knit.

Keep in mind though that this is just from my point of view, though. Anyways, that's what I meant, I think. Sorry to keep you waiting for so long.

No prob! :)

1) I'm not quite sure what you mean with the muck isn't as realistic like before. You mean that the RPs aren't realistic from a biological point of view or because is not well attached to the SoN story line? Or are you referring to the OOC?

2) Well, I wasn't on the muck since I'm rather new, therefore I can't do comparisons. But I know that there had been arguments between a couple of players. But it's something totally normal when some people gather together, and those problems were quickly solved. And the friendship had always prevailed.

Now, it's just my personal point of view. So I'd like if others NIMHmuckers tell what they think about this.

Hmmm I'd like to know what you mean specifically about it not being as "realistic" as well. lipondersli

On the second point, I think I can provide an answer. We have been practically exploding with new players on the muck lately. With more active players, the degree of close-knit community will become a bit diluted. At least until the new players become comfortable with everyone as well. The bigger the group, the harder it is to be on close friendship with -everyone.- Just the way things go really.

Hmm, let me see.
1: You have to download and instal the client for the muck. I recomend MuckClient http://www.xcalibur.co.uk/MuckClient/

2: Next you have to run it and go to the "connect" button, and in the space of "Host or IP address" type muck.nimhmuck.org and in "Port" type 4567

3: With that you'll be at the "Protomuck" (the server who makes the muck work) There, you have to type connect guest guest to log in as a guest.

4: Now you're in the NIMHmuck itself. From there you can "page" a wizzard for help. Just type wizzes to see wich of the wizzards staff is online.
To send him a message type page <player's name>=<your message> (without the <>)
And that's all. :)

To get a character you have to type @request
The program talks by itself so I don't think you have troubles with it.
Anyway mi characters are Tenken, Redah, Sarah and Patricia. Feel free to page me and I'll be glad to help you.

Ah! Be sure to check the Help section in the http://nimhmuck.org/help site, to know about the commands and so.

See ya in the muck! :D

I want to personally thank everyone for their welcome last nite on muck. and their patience with my computer ineptness (if that's even a word.)
Really, though, you guys don't know how much it meant to me considering the circumstances last night. I don't wanna go into too much detail, but my family was thrown into a crisis yesterday and i was still reeling when i logged on. my sister lost her baby the day before she was supposed to deliver, it's kinda got everybody pretty messed up. i'm still reeling. yeah. okay, enuff about that. Anyway, thanks everyone. Thank you so much.

Well you know Tod, we have a nice group of friends there, and you can rely on us whenever you feel down, and feel free to come to the NIMHmuck if you want to chat, or simply have fun :D
Cheer up Tod, I wish you and your family the best. :)

Well, this was addressed to Simon, but I think I can help you :)
You just need to enter your user name (on this case rysko) and use the Request new password thing. It'll send a new password to your mail, with that password you can log in and change it whenever you want if you go to your profile.

:? But it seems that you already fixed the problem, because I went to the site and there's an user named rysko online.
Well, looks like it's alright now :D
Cya in the muck! :D

Ow ow wait a sec. You were referring to the NIMHmuck.org site or the NIMHmuck itself? I assumed that you were talking about the site because I didn't find any player named rysko in the muck. :?

Mmmh... Dunno then.
One thing is sure, there isn't any character named Rysko created in the muck. I suggest you to contact a wizzard in the muck to help you on this, and I think you should use the @request again.

Maybe it could help if you post the message you receive when you try to log in, so we can see what's the problem.
Wish you luck!
