Domo!

I have 2 announcements to make.

1. I will be gone from July 2nd to July 5th 'cause I'm off to the EXPO held in Aichi, Japan. Therefore I will not be posting anything on the forum. Also Hiro will be absent from Thorn Valley in NIMHmuck. So I'll see you on July 6th!

2. I have made a website about "The Rescuers" and "The Secret of NIMH" (To be exact, Bernard, Miss Bianca, and Mrs. Brisby...) I will publish it tomorrow and put the url in my profile eventually. Also, I have linked thornvalley.com in the bottom of the main page. It's in English and Japanese (some parts don't have Japanese though...) so if you can check it out. I am not finished with this website and I am planning to update it when school begins in August (Because of the fact that I don't have the thing to make it at my house.)

So those are the announcements...

See ya!

Just so everyone knows, if you make a mistake in one of your posts, you can still click the little edit button http://www.thornvalley.com/commons/forum/templates/subSilver/images/lang_english/icon_edit.gif[" alt=""/img] and fix it yourself. Hope you have fun at the EXPO, and good luck with the website! :)

Since I do not draw or write I also did a little web site in honor of the the movie, but I made a error in the site, I put to much into the movie and almost zero for the book, I wish to fix that soon. The book, even tho late in coming to me has played a great part in understand the story as a whole.

Love to see you web site and good luck on it :D

Domo!

I'm back.

Ok. Now answering Torrie's question (in a different topic) about what I did in the EXPO,

The EXPO was pretty cool. I really liked it. It was rainy, and crowded. On July 4th, the EXPO had it's 10 millionth guest. (I wasn't it though...), It was pretty crowded, the mpst crowded part was the entrance. Near closing time was crowded also. There was even a sing that said,

"Closing time may be crowded. Please go home early." (Translated from Japanese) which is a very wierd thing to say.

The US pavilion's theme was "Franklin Spirit" and was a show mainly about Ben Franklin (Who I learned had so many jobs.) and an exhibit about American Inventions and great parts of American history (The Wright Brothers is an example.)

What I thought was pretty interesting was the Bulgaria pavilion. The facade of the pavilion had a large wall of roses (In other words, a giant rosebush. Sound familiar?) to me it reminded me of "something." :D

Basically the EXPO was all about nature. The global commons (the pavilions of nations) were all about that and many were general explanatons of the country.

Some of the most popular (or famous) were the "frozen mammoth" (the frozen head and foot of a mammoth found in somewhere in Russia complete with skin, in other words, not just bone.)

The Nagakute Japan Pavilion- A pavilion on how Japan changed over the years.

And the "Earth Tower." - A pavilion produced by Fumiya Fujii (A japanese singer and artist.). The tower was a giant kaleidoscope lighted up by the sun.

The Japan P and the Tower had some excellent ways to care about he nature. Such as using water to drip throught the pavilion so that the inside can be cool without ACs.

My favorite part was the stamps in each pavilion. There's are green passports sold in the shops and what you do is get stamps of the pavilions you go to. The passports were500 yen (about 4 dollars perhaps)

There so much I saw and can't talk about them in one reply. I've got lots of pictures of the EXPO. I'm planning to put them on my website when I'm back in school.

Too bad it's only temporary (I'm actually sad that I can't go again.)

Anyway, those were my favorites...

PS. This idea might surprise people, but the Thorn Valley of NIMH 2 might of made an excellent pavilion. The theme of the EXPO and the Thorn valley scene are pretty similar... :)
