“...and as Dr. Shultz wired in the last electrode the robotic claws twitched. He gazed at them, sweat beading on his brow. The claws twitched again, then curled, uncurled and finally flexed, miniature synthetic tendons straining with their first use. The doctor grinned.
“It's alive!” he mumbled. Then he laughed. “IT'S ALIVE!” he screamed, flinging his arms wide in exultation. Lightening threw the lab into stark shadow, the inevitable roll of thunder followed; the booming percussion to this sinister symphony of creation…

Ahem…

So… Anyone planning a fanfic that goes back to NIMH? If so, you may want to know the sort of thing they are doing nowadays. Just found this on t'internet:

The experiment[=http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs/20041018/brain.html?ct=4820.39805808203]The experiment

All right, it's technically not related to NIMH, but I thought it was interesting. However at the same time kinda creepy. Imagine a computer with a little brain inside it instead of a CPU. Just imagine a little robot of some kind controlled by a rat brain? How would the NIMH rats react to that? Hey...! They could even bring Jenner back! Has anyone read Battle Angel Alita? And, of course, once again it seems scientists have been unable to stop themselves playing around with rats. They just don't seem to be able to leave these poor creatures alone!

And so, a vote!

Interesting? Creepy? Don't care? I like cake? You decide!

Even after thinking about that one... I can only say that that would be interesting in a weird sort of way. Exactly what the NIMH community hasn't seen much of. I hope that changes soon. . .
