Using bits of the movie..

Is it good or bad to use bits of the movie to write your fanfic? I finished a fanfic awhile ago, don't ask to read it because I'm on the verge of editing itli. In a few parts, I used scenes from the movie; which I probably butchered. I wasn't trying to rip off the movie, just some of the scenes in the movie fit with what I was writing.

I don't personally have a problem with that, though you might consider trying it from a fresh perspective (i.e. perhaps with a different character that was present) to keep things original.
